Audience takes a Shine to boy band and boosts funds

A performance by Take That tribute act Take That 2 in aid of Junior Achievement Isle of Man has raised more than £5,000.
The show took place at the Gaiety Theatre on February 11 and was sponsored by OSA Recruitment and supported by 3FM. Alliance and Leicester International, as part of the bank's 12 Days of Christmas campaign, provided six volunteers to help on the evening, selling glow sticks.
Junior Achievement Isle of Man chief executive Sue Cook said: 'The evening was a fantastic success with the audience really getting into the mood and dancing in the aisles at some points. Take That 2 put on a fabulous show, very professionally staged, and thanks to them, our sponsors, supporters and members of the public we've been able to raise this amazing sum of £5,280.87p.
'The Take That 2 night has got our 2011 fundraising programme off to a brilliant start and we have plans for a whole range of other events this year, some off-the-wall, some a little more conventional but with a contemporary JA "twist" to help us on our way towards raising £300,000 a year to reach every student in primary and secondary education in the Island.'
