Volunteers
Our programmes are run with the help of a wonderful team of volunteers from business and the wider community. They work alongside the teacher in the classroom to deliver the programmes and each year we need more than 300 volunteers to make this happen. Volunteers come from all walks of life and all backgrounds; some are retired, others have children in education and some work either part or full time.
Through becoming a JA volunteer, you can make a real difference to the lives and potential of young people in your area by helping them to understand the world of business and prepare for their working lives.
Getting Involved
Volunteering is during school hours and each programme lasts approximately 5 hours. In Primary Schools the programme will run 1 hour per day over five days e.g. 10.00am - 11.00am. In Secondary Schools the programme is run over one day e.g. 8.45am - 3.30pm. Full training will be provided.
Volunteers must be 18 years or over with no upper age limit.
Once you have been approved you can volunteer by organising fundraising activities or working in classrooms.
In return we will be offering our Volunteers the chance to take the Island's first accredited qualification for volunteering. This qualification is known as a CVQ (Community Volunteering Qualification) and will be free of charge thanks to the generous support of Barclays Wealth.
