Wizardry and Magic coming to the Royal Manx Agricultural Show

Starts on: 09/08/2019

At Junior Achievement we like to put the ‘fun’ into fundraising and this year we’ve decided to take the magical world of Harry Potter to the Royal Manx Show.  We need a team of Muggles and Wizards on Friday 9th & 10th August who would be willing to volunteer their time (all we ask is that you are over the age of 16).

We want to run fun packed potions classes which have been inspired by the Harry Potter films. These will run throughout the day.  If you can help we would love to hear from you.

Friday 9th August 10.30am – 4.30pm and / or
Saturday 10th August 9.30am – 4.30pm.

Potions Assistants

Can you help us to make the potions class an interactive and memorable experience? Would you be willing to assist younger children with their potions and to tidy and set up after each class? Then this is the role for you. All materials and training provided but we promise it’s not complicated.

Promotions Assistants

If you have experience of handling money and like dealing with people then we need people to take payment from members of the public and distribute wristbands for each of the classes.

Professor Snape

Professor Snape is key to the success of the potions class and will be giving the instructions to members of the public. We have all the materials and the lesson plan ready we just need someone who is larger than life, a little bit scary and would love to make people believe they have stepped right into Hogwarts.

Professor McGonagall

We have sorting hats and would love someone to dress up as Professor McGonagall to sort the children into houses.

Professor Trelawney

We will have a separate tent for Professor Trelawney to read tea leaves and palms.

Other key characters

We would also love to hear from people willing to get dressed up as key characters from the film to have selfies and interact with members of the public.

How to apply

In the first instance please email jo.pack@jaiom.im and let her know which of the days you can volunteer and which role you would be able to help with.

Please note that the event is an independent fundraiser organised by Manx charity Junior Achievement and is not affiliated to or organised by Warner Bros Entertainment.
