Get a Job has been designed to help young people navigate employers' complex recruitment and selection processes.

In this programme, JA volunteers from the business community work with students to help them to understand how to apply for a job.

The students learn what employers look for when reviewing a job application, developing transferable skills for the workplace, what to include on a CV, finding and applying for a job, preparing for an interview, body language, questioning techniques and how to follow up after an interview.

Before completing the programme:

83% of the students did not know how to put a good CV together.

87% did not know how to write a personal profile.

86% of the students did not know how to prepare for a job interview.

And 84% of the students did not know what type of questions an employer would ask them in a job interview.

After completing the programme:

95% of the students felt more confident about applying for a job.
